Heres a quick recap of the last couple months:
- Applied to graduate school: honestly I don't believe that I'll get in due to the sheer (shear?) numbers that are applying this year and how limited the spaces there are in the programs. I applied to the University of Northern Colorado and to my soon to be alma mater University of Nevada-Reno. Hopefully I get in to one of the programs but if not- no big deal!
- I started volunteering with 2 of the SLPs within the school district here in Reno back in January. I tried to start earlier but due to the busy-ness of the women who supervise, I didn't get in until recently. But, I love it! I have learned A LOT and have seen what SLPs in action look like. And let me tell you, the school setting is MUCH different than the clinical setting I have been seeing for the last 2 years. I am so excited to be done with my degree becauseeee....
- I was told that the school district will be able to sponsor me for my provisional license! So, if I do not go to grad school, I have some kind of spot in the schools. WOOT.
I am very excited for all of the things that have been going on and I have SO many materials to use when I get a spot! I have made the best of the SuperDuper Publications sales that they have weekly, I have all kinds of games and open-ended boards for therapy. Not to mention a TON of articulation flashcards that I have made over the last 6 weeks!
I'm just getting started, I know. But it can only get better from here. I have a ton of things that are panning out and I'm ready to get on it!
Hopefully I'll get the hang of this though. This won't be the first (and last) post.... I hope!
