Blogging?

I'm not really used to this sort of thing so I'm getting used to it! Hopefully, I'll get the hang of it quick and start filling people in on how my life is going at school and at work. Also, I hope to use it to show all of my SLP friends all of the materials that I use in the therapy room and while volunteering.

Heres a quick recap of the last couple months:
  1. Applied to graduate school: honestly I don't believe that I'll get in due to the sheer (shear?) numbers that are applying this year and how limited the spaces there are in the programs. I applied to the University of Northern Colorado and to my soon to be alma mater University of Nevada-Reno. Hopefully I get in to one of the programs but if not- no big deal!
  2. I started volunteering with 2 of the SLPs within the school district here in Reno back in January. I tried to start earlier but due to the busy-ness of the women who supervise, I didn't get in until recently. But, I love it! I have learned A LOT and have seen what SLPs in action look like. And let me tell you, the school setting is MUCH different than the clinical setting I have been seeing for the last 2 years. I am so excited to be done with my degree becauseeee....
  3. I was told that the school district will be able to sponsor me for my provisional license! So, if I do not go to grad school, I have some kind of spot in the schools. WOOT.
I am very excited for all of the things that have been going on and I have SO many materials to use when I get a spot! I have made the best of the SuperDuper Publications sales that they have weekly, I have all kinds of games and open-ended boards for therapy. Not to mention a TON of articulation flashcards that I have made over the last 6 weeks!

I'm just getting started, I know. But it can only get better from here. I have a ton of things that are panning out and I'm ready to get on it!

Hopefully I'll get the hang of this though. This won't be the first (and last) post.... I hope!
